Resorts World Las Vegas is one of the largest properties built on the Las Vegas strip in recent years, so there was a lot of pressure to create the perfect first impression for this building. This massive resort has 59 floors and features a hotel with 3,500 guest rooms, a 117,000 sq ft casino, 5,000-person capacity theater, 5.5 acre pool deck, 70,000 sq ft of retail space and numerous other amenities. Because of the luxury brands involved and competition for visibility amongst the adjacent Las Vegas hotels and casinos, an eye-catching façade was a must.
The design balances traditional and modern elements, using Dryvit for architectural versatility, material compatibility and continuous insulation from a single manufacturer. The Outsulation® Plus MD system was utilized across nearly 850,000 sq ft of the building’s exterior, incorporating custom colors and 6 different textures: Finesse, Sandpebble Fine, TerraNeo, Tiber Stone, Demandit Smooth, and Reflectit. These claddings were paired with enormous LED screens on the west tower to broadcast the latest news and events.
This LEED Silver project showcases all the benefits of EIFS for exterior cladding, including light weight, durability, design flexibility and energy efficiency. Thanks to high-quality building materials and the collaborative efforts of the architect, general contractor, distributor, installer and manufacturer, Resorts World was constructed ahead of schedule and is now a highly recognizable and world-class structure known for its size, beauty and craftsmanship.
Note: The Theatre at Resorts World won the 2023 AWCI Excellence in Construction Quality Award in the Steel Framing Category.
