The Ridgway Space to Create affordable housing project is a mixed-use building, which combines multi-family living, parking, a community space and leasable areas for events, performances and classes. As part of the city’s Creative District, the building needed a fun, fresh exterior, while still complementing the more traditional architecture of the adjacent structures.
The architect originally designed the building with stucco, but after talking through the project with Dryvit, switched to EIFS and EIFS panels to deliver the desired aesthetics and energy efficiency.
Various façade materials were essential to achieving this. NewBrick® is used in 3 different colors across the building to mimic the look of masonry with added insulation value. Fedderlite® exterior wall panels were finished in multiple textures to replicate the appearance of wood grain plank, clapboard, Dutch lap, stone and corrugated metal.
