Poor performing exterior cladding and insufficient insulation plagued this 12-story multifamily residential building in downtown Denver, Colorado. Years of air leakage continued to strain their HVAC systems and increase heating and cooling costs. To improve the building’s energy and operational efficiency and meet the higher performance standards outlined in Energize Denver, the Skyline 1801 city apartment complex decided to undergo a strategic exterior restoration and energy retrofit.
The subsequent building solutions not only had to improve thermal performance, increase tenant comfort and extend the life of the structure, but also preserve the building’s original architectural character. Tremco Construction Products Group delivered a fully integrated exterior restoration system, combining compatible façade panels, sealants, expansion joints, concrete repair products and more to upgrade the building while minimizing tenant disruption.

The revitalized façade now delivers a high-efficiency building envelope that demonstrates how a systems approach streamlines energy retrofits and code compliance for all the building’s stakeholders.
