Tremco's headquarters, a 1970s-era, 46,200 sq ft facility, underwent a transformative interior and exterior renovation in 2011 to improve its functionality, energy efficiency and aging façade.
Dryvit's Outsulation Plus MD system with a custom TerraNeo® finish provided the perfect solution for the building's exterior. Installed directly over the existing cladding, the Outsulation system delivered a high-performance air- and water-resistive barrier with continuous insulation (CI) while avoiding the need for a disruptive façade tearoff and replacement. The TerraNeo granite-like finish upgraded the building's aesthetic and complemented the rest of the campus design.
The retrofit not only preserved normal business operations, but also exceeded the energy goals. Within a year, electricity usage dropped 33%, gas emissions decreased by 67% and the building achieved LEED® Gold certification.
