12 oz per sq yd Reinforcing Mesh for Dryvit Systems

A 12 oz per sq yd (203 g/m²) mesh recommended for the second story and above where added protection from such things as window washing equipment, ladders, etc. is desired. Specially woven and treated glass fiber mesh is used with Dryvit base coats to provide strength and impact resistance. When embedded in the Dryvit base coat mixture, the glass fiber reinforcing mesh provides continuity of surface to resist cracking and to increase impact resistance.

The base coat of the EIFS is reinforced with fiberglass reinforcing mesh. In areas prone to abuse or high impact, a second layer of heavier fiber mesh (20 oz/sq yd), applied first, can be added to the standard mesh (4.3 oz/sq yd).

The reinforcing mesh in EIFS gives the exterior cladding greater impact resistance and longevity to minimize ongoing maintenance. The fiber mesh also provides strength and flexibility in multiple directions during thermal movement cycles.
